Plant Biogeography

PRINCIPLE INVESTIGATOR
I manage and conduct studies on plant biogeography in Biogeography Research Lab. My research interests focus mainly on taxonomy, systematics, evolution, ecology and biogeography of wild Crucifers (Brassicaceae) and historical biogeography of Anatolian plants. I study natural plant populations and I would like to understand 1) complex biogeographic history of Mediterranean plants 2) demography of alpine plants growing in Anatolian high mountains and how they respond to climate change. To achieve my objective, I use combined morphological, molecular and ecological approaches.
